Day 3 - Moraine Lake Meadows Hike

Our first challenge of the day involved the steep hike to Moraine Lake Meadows.  The 1300ft climb to the meadows was a bear, no pun intended. A half a dozen switch backs delivered us to the meadows where flowers bloomed, a gentle stream trickled under a foot bridge, sky rocketing mountain peaks and  powdery glaciers surrounded us.   Why didn’t those glaciers just melt and slide off the sides of those mountains I wondered.
