Hiawatha Bike Ride, Idaho: On the border of Montana and Idaho is a gorgeous rail-to-trail ride downhill, through tunnels, across trestles and through forests of trees and more trees. A bus waited at the bottom to bring us back to the top. But we still had to ride back through the 1.5 mile ice cold, wet and completely dark tunnel. Flashlights were a must. Our host, Chris and Ann delivered this bonus excursion into mother nature. Barbara and Ann waited patiently as the three boys road fthe trail or two hours and then waited another two hours for the bus to pick them up. True, it was Memorial day and the crowds were huge but it was fun. Riders of all ages. Riding back to back rides, first the Centennial Trail and then Hiawatha gave us 39 miles for the day or as Patrick always says, round up. OK, 40 miles.
