Waiting For The Train, Bakerfield, California: We spent the night at a RV park surrounded by orange groves just outside Bakersfield, Califorina. The Fruit Belt I suppose. This town would not make our favorites lists but we needed an overnight stop on our long drive to Yosemite. Besides we need to do laundry, refill and drain our liquids and replenish our fridge and pantry for the 4 days of dry camping in the Sierras.
I got up early and rode my bike over to the nearby produce plants where they processed the daily pickin's. I was actually more interested in the tracks the stood behind buildings. That's right, train tracks. We had failed miserably in Flagstaff at getting an up close video of trains rolling by for Aiden, our grandson in Hawaii. I know persoanlly that the trains ran all night long, but for some reason, maybe early morning rush hour, there weren't andy trains rolling by during the hour that I was there. So, I took some snaps of the tracks and the surrounding landscape. I do love the pattern of tracks. I guess I think of the worlds as my own model railroad.
Sorry Aiden, no rolling trains on this stop. We'll keep looking.
