Lower Fall, Yosemite National Park, California: This was our last hike in the valley, just a short 1.5 miler (RT) to the base of the falls. We parked in the meadows and strolled to a spectacular view of both waterfalls.
The crowds and thunderstorms were coming. We decided to pack up and get out of Dodge. We'd done all that we wanted to do, and more, in the valley. Heck, we saw water in the falls this time. Though brief, it was a great re-visit for us. The entire 3.5 days was filled with hikes we planned and didn't plan, and while we were visiting, the weather was really great. Yeah, we even put up with what we consider cold temperature. But, we had enough and I didn't want to spend the night without hook ups, a really lousy campsite (we guarded the bathrooms) and worse than worse, no internet. Once a day would be fine but they discontinued the wifi service at nearby Camp Curry which we had in 2009. It was only for guest of the lodge.
So, we skadadlled. The Pacific Ocean was calling us.
