Biking on the River Mountain Trail, Nevada: All healed from mountain climbing in Flagstaff, I was ready for a great bike ride in the Lake Mead area. This is another one that I had planned for and was eager to hit the road again with my "hanai" brother Patrick. We've done so many rides all across America together and I knew that he would love to join me on this.
We got up early for this 3-4 hour, 36 mile ride around River Mountain on one of the nicest bike paths we've ever been on. Generally, there were gradual elevation changes on this two bike lane paved asphalt path that hugged the moutain that we road around. Views of Las Vegas, surrounding moutains and the 8 mile downhill run overlooking the great Lake Mead was fabulous. We both agreed that only one ride was better, our ride around Crater Lake, OR back in 2009.
