RogersFall 2015
Three Hours Later, Kalaloch, Olympic National Park, WA: As dinner of hot soup and sandwiches were consumed, I noticed that the once heavy bank of clouds were starting to thin out. Was that the sun trying to peek through? Yes, as Mr. Harrison said, "Here Comes The Sun." I grabbed my soup mug and my trusty Nikon and rushed to the campground edge and then down to the beach. With the clouds breaking apart, I thought, this could be a great sunset. All the campers emerged from the dry security of their RVs and stood along the still wet fenced edge, many joined me down on the beach. Oh my gosh, there’s actually an island out there with a light house. Birds, yes, those pesky birds kept flying into my view finder while I tried to shoot the sunset. At least one of them could have silhouetted in the sun and made the perfect shot. It was ok, the sun finally shone on our campground. Rejoice, rejoice!
